This commentary reiterates the role of alk rearrangements in up to 70% of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumours (vs pseudosarcomatous myofibroblastic proliferations). These authors emphasise the role of FISH to accomplish this distinction to be a "modern updated pathologist."

This is the second part of a two-part extravaganza on lesions that mimic melanoma. In this offering the authors concentrate on all the intradermal melanoma look-alikes. This is a detailed, comprehensive expose with brilliant tables. Although the illustrations are in black and white, this does not detract from the superb quality of this "My Approach" contribution. Well worth a read and photocopying the tables.
