Presence of virus-like bodies in liver cells of patients with infectious hepatitis
Abstract
Cytoplasmic `saccules', bordered by monolayer membranes, containing round, virus-like particles, with a diameter of about 200 Å, are described in liver cells of 11 patients suffering from viral hepatitis. The differences between this pattern, glycogenic clumps of granules, polysomes, and cytoplasmic autolysis processes are discussed.
