The effect of the dye neutral red on a strain of Staphylococcus aureus in the presence of sunlight

    Abstract

    A strain of Staphylococcus aureus was isolated, the growth of which in the presence of neutral red was inhibited by sunlight. This phenomenon was not shown by any of a number of other strains of the same or different genera.
