2012, Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial SurgeryCitation Excerpt :Cytogenetic studies of PAs from major salivary glands and MSGs may be helpful in this regard. The cytogenetics of PA of the major salivary glands is well documented.11,14,25-28 About 70% of parotid gland PAs show an abnormal karyotype in 1 of the following 3 patterns: 1) rearrangement of 8q12 (39% of cases); 2) rearrangement of 12q13-15 (8% of cases); and 3) sporadic, clonal changes not involving 8q21 or 12q13-15 (23% of cases).29

2006, Cancer Genetics and CytogeneticsCitation Excerpt :Mandibular metastasis of salivary gland origin is considered very rare [3]. The cytogenetic findings of a variety of salivary gland tumors have been reported [4,5], but we are unaware of reports describing the cytogenetic findings of BCAC, either at the primary site or at a distant metastasis site, except for the one report by Mark et al. [4], in which the BCAC culture failed. This report describes the cytogenetic findings of a case of BCAC in a metastatic lesion of the mandible, which origniated in the parotid.
