    Citation Excerpt :

Although it is well documented that LVOTO can occur after mitral valve replacement, the cause and resultant hemodynamic effect vary. Historically, a culprit was obstruction by stent posts because the first-generation bioprostheses had higher profiles and tended to obstruct the LVOT [1]. Bortolotti and colleagues [2] reported that fatal LVOTO could occur by low-profile bioprostheses that were not properly seated.
