    Abstract

The apparent volumes of distribution of Evans blue and 59Fe-dextran were determined in 18 studies.

59Fe-dextran volume was 5% lower than Evans blue volume, a highly significant difference.

The rate of loss of 59Fe dextran from the circulation was significantly less than that of Evans blue.
