At the time of writing, the authors were not aware that the patient had undergone a panhysterectomy for a possible ovarian tumour six years previously. Details of surgery and pathology are still not available. In view of this, and the negative cytokeratin 7 and positive kytokeratin 20 results (kindly performed by Dr J Aidan Carney, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, USA), we realise that the neoplasm is not a psammomatous carcinoid.
