The paper by Seiler et al1 describes tissue microarrays on tissue taken from 150 patients with invasive bladder cancer. These patients were clinically node negative on preoperative staging, but were found to have nodal metastases on subsequent histopathological examination. Patients had not received neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The median lymph node yield of 27 is a surrogate for thorough lymphadenectomy and careful histopathological processing.
