      Abstract

Pyogenic liver abscesses are uncommon in clinical practice and are usually polymicrobial in nature, with members of the Enterobacteriaecae family often implicated. Herein, we describe the use of tigecycline to treat a liver abscess caused by meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) that was refractory to therapy with standard antimicrobials.
