The policy of the Association of Clinical Pathology and of the Editorial Board of the new Journal is, therefore, to provide under one cover a regular publication of such original articles, review articles, technical methods and abstracts which will be of value to the practising clinical pathologist whose daily work must be orientated towards the elucidation of disease in man.1
The goal of this journal, as stated in 1947, is unchanged—to be at the forefront of educating the global pathology audience. The focus of each issue is to publish articles of value to a practising pathologist and all papers here will pass that litmus test. The journal will continue to represent all branches of Pathology: histopathology, chemical pathology, transfusion medicine, haematology, microbiology and immunology, although I would acknowledge the proclivity to surgical pathology. Nevertheless, Journal of Clinical Pathology (JCP) firmly remains a multidisciplinary journal, making it somewhat of a dinosaur in the world of niche journals; I refuse to view this as a limitation.
