A solitary movable mass in the left upper–outer quadrant of the breast was palpated on physical examination. It had a hard texture and a poorly defined boundary. Fine-needle aspiration revealed ovoid and spindle-shaped tumour cells with mildly pleomorphic nuclei that were approximately two-to-three times larger than a small lymphocyte (figure 1).Figure 1 Fine-needle aspiration reveals uniform oval or spindle-shaped cells with a high nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio and indistinct borders.
