TY - JOUR T1 - Antiphospholipid syndrome presenting as cerebral venous sinus thrombosis: a case series and a review JF - Journal of Clinical Pathology JO - J Clin Pathol SP - 337 LP - 343 DO - 10.1136/jclinpath-2015-203077 VL - 69 IS - 4 AU - Abdul Shlebak Y1 - 2016/04/01 UR - http://jcp.bmj.com/content/69/4/337.abstract N2 - The cerebral venous sinus system is a rare site for venous thrombosis except in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome. We describe three patients presenting with cerebral venous thrombosis in association with other thrombotic sites in two patients and as an only site in one patient. Antiphospholipid syndrome has varied clinical manifestations but the defining feature is the persistent presence of antiphospholipid antibodies. In this report we will review the clinical and laboratory diagnostic criteria and the management of patients with antiphospholipid syndrome. ER -
