AB  - Understanding the heterogeneity of departmental structure, service model and job descriptions for different pathology chairs, this review highlights some common challenges and opportunities facing most pathology chairs in academic institutions. The review is divided into three sections: clinical service, academic development and administration. The views and insights from this review may provide guidance to new chairs and emerging leaders in pathology and other relevant specialties.
