2021, VaccineCitation Excerpt :In a previous multi-center clinical trial on 2,132 children age 1–12 years, 2% of the vaccinees experienced fever within 0–3 days after vaccination [10]. In addition to fever and injection-site complaints, other symptoms or clinical diagnoses observed following vaccination included upper respiratory illness, irritability, fatigue, diarrhea, loss of appetite, vomiting, otitis, diaper rash/contact rash, abdominal pain, nausea, eye complaints, lower respiratory illness, and allergic reactions [6-14]. In the current study, we identified an increase in the risk of medically attended fever and upper respiratory infection 1–6 days after vaccination; 1,493 (62.9%) of the 2,374 medically attended fever events were associated with same-day diagnoses of acute respiratory infection.
