Human Herpesvirus Infections
2011, Tropical Infectious Diseases: Principles, Pathogens and PracticeKSHV genotypes A and C are more frequent in Kaposi sarcoma lesions from Brazilian patients with and without HIV infection, respectively
2011, Cancer LettersCitation Excerpt :It is also associated with Multicentric Castleman Disease (MCD) [2–4] and Primary Effusion Lymphoma (PEL) [5], notably in patients harboring the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Molecular approaches used in the last decade allowed the detection of KSHV genome in all sort of KS specimens [6–10]. The analysis of the viral DNA has generated valuable data to clarify the molecular epidemiology of KSHV infection and associated diseases [11].
