Non-caseating granulomatous mastitis: Restrospective review of 61 cases
2024, Revista de Senologia y Patologia MamariaThe effect of methotrexate monotherapy on treatment-resistant idiopathic granulomatous mastitis patients
2022, SurgeonCitation Excerpt :Those diagnosed with old or new breast cancer histopathologically, any granulomatous disease with non-infectious factors such as tuberculosis, fungal and parasitic reactions, Wegener's granulomatosis, foreign bodies, a history of another malignancy, pregnant or breastfeeding, or receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy were excluded. The mean age of the 64 patients was 32.77 ± 6.03 years.23–49 Since we are a tertiary referral center, 56 (87.5%) of the patients were directed to us from other centers.
Etiology of granulomatous lobular mastitis based on metagenomic next-generation sequencing
2021, International Journal of Infectious DiseasesCitation Excerpt :In this study, the median age of our 29 mastitis patients was 33, and most had a history of breastfeeding. The main symptom was painful breast masses with an average size of 6.3 cm, mostly on the left side, consistent with reports in the literature (Aghajanzadeh et al., 2015, Al-Khaffaf et al., 2008, Tse et al., 2004). The highlight of our project is the first use of high-throughput sequencing of pathogenic microorganisms DNA, combined with clinical examination results, to analyze the etiology of GLM comprehensively.
Clinical and imaging features of idiopathic granulomatous mastitis - The diagnostic challenges and a brief review
2021, Clinical ImagingCitation Excerpt :Granulomatous mastitis (GM), or granulomatous lobular mastitis (GLM) is a rare, benign, inflammatory condition of the breast characterized by non-necrotizing granulomatous inflammation in lobules of breast tissue and breast parenchyma. The granulomas may be associated with neutrophilic micro-abscesses on histopathology [1–3]. GM has two distinct forms: specific GM (SGM) and Idiopathic GM (IGM) [4,5].
